A case has been registered against the public policy director of Facebook India in Raipur, accusing him of hurting religious sentiments

A case has been registered against Ankhi Das, director of Facebook India and South Central Asia Public Policy, in Raipur.

Apart from Das, the FIR also includes the names of two Facebook users. All three have been charged with offending religious sentiments. Police made the report on Tuesday.

Raipur SP Ajay Yadav said that a case has been registered at Kabir Nagar police station on the complaint of Owais Tiwari, a journalist by profession.

Apart from Ankhi Das, Ram Saho of Mangli in Chhattisgarh and Vivek Sinha of Indore have been named in the FIR.

Filed a case under 5 sections such as trying to provoke people
A case has been registered against the three under sections 295 (a), 505 (1) (c), 506, 500 and 34 of the IPC. These clauses deal with attempts to hurt religious sentiments, incite people, intimidate, defame and misrepresent.

Ankhi Das has also lodged a complaint against Tiwari
The complainant is Owais Tiwari, who was accused by his servant of threatening to kill him. Das had complained to the Delhi Police that he was receiving threats through online posts.

Tiwari, on the other hand, said in his complaint that he had published an article on his Facebook account in the American newspaper Wall Street Journal on August 16.
